Priest The destruction of the earth’s surface was the result of the long-running conflict between humans and vampires. This resulted in the establishment of the democracy known as The Church. Despite their vulnerability to sun and the technological advancements made by mankind vampires were a challenge to stop. Humanity defended them with massive cities with walls and trained priests to change the tide.
In the opening scene the group of Priests enters the Sola Mira Hive but are ambushed by the vampires. One of them is taken from behind, and the leader tries to pull him away, but he is then forced to let go. He is then dragged screaming back into the hive.
Most vampires were killed years later. The war was over , and the Priests were disbanded and replaced by the Clergy. Beyond the walls of cities there are a few people who seek the freedom of living without the totalitarian rule of The Church. Priest HD
Hicks ( Cam Giandet) approaches Priest ( Paul Bettany), who serves as the sheriff in Augustine. Priest discovers that Owen and his brother and Owen’s girlfriend, Shannon (Priest’s girlfriend before being enlisted into the clergy) were fatally wounded during the attack of vampires and Priest’s niece Lucy ( Lily Collins) was abducted. Hicks seeks the help of Priest in rescuing Lucy. Priest requests the Church to reinstate his authority. But, Monsignor Orelas ( Christopher Plummer) who is the leader of the Church isn’t convinced of the myth of the vampire. He rebuts the request to believe that everyone believes that the vampires are defeated. The reason for this is the fear of losing the Church’s authority. Orelas dispatches three priests as well as one priestess ( Mag Q) in order to get the priest back.
Priest and Hicks are brought to Nightshade Reservation, where they discover Familiars, humans infected by the virus that renders vampires subservient. After a fierce combat, the two discover that the majority of vampires have sought refuge in Sola Mira, which was believed to be abandoned following the war. Priestess, who was part of Priest’s failed assault on Hive and Hive, is also a part of the group at Sola Mira. After they destroy a Hive Guardian vampire they discover that the vampires had created an army and dug tunnels from the mountain to reach Jericho. Just as night falls three more Priests arrive at Jericho and an armored train is able to unleash hundreds of troops on the population. A powerful and mysterious human in a black hat leads the vampires ( Karl Urban). Black Hat kills all three Priests who refuse his offer to join him.
Priest priest, Priestess, and Hicks arrive at Jericho the next morning to discover the town empty, and three of the deceased Priests have been crucified. Priest and Priestess have an intimate moment in which she confesses her feelings for him, hoping that now that Shannon has died, he would no longer feel bound to her. Priest softly declines. Priest recognizes that the vampires have been traveling on trains during the day, and then attack free towns by night, and the city walls near the end of the train line. Hicks claims that the sun is protecting the cities, but Priest says the massive smoke and Ash clouds that cover the cities has permanently blocked sunlight. A city’s attack will result in a massacre if the train reaches the city.
Priest is threatened by Hicks who is in love Lucy and believes Priest will kill her if she is infected by the vampires. Priestess informs Priestess that she isn’t able to because Lucy is the daughter of Priest. She also explains that Owen was Priest’s husband and father during Priestess’s arrest by the Church. Lucy was never informed of her parentage.
Priestess rushes ahead in order to place a bomb on railway tracks. Priestess and Hicks take off on a train to save Lucy. Fighting Familiars and vampires they are defeated by Black Hat just as they find Lucy. Black Hat is revealed to be the priest who perished in life in the attack against Sola Mira. After being taken prisoner by the vampire Queen, she gave his blood, making him the first vampire-human hybrid that can survive the sun. Lucy discovers the truth about her family’s history as Priest battles Black Hat. Priestess is fighting several Familiars on the tracks in front of the train. However, one of them beats the detonator. Instead, she mounts explosives on her motorbike and then drives them into the train’s engine. The derailment, which follows the explosion will kill the vampires, and then engulf Black Hat in flames, while Hicks, Priest, Priestess and Lucy can escape.
Priest returns to the city, confronting Monsignor Orelas during Mass. He tells him about the burned train that contained the vampire bodies, but it was not the Queen’s. He proves this by throwing a head of a vampire on the floor, shocking all in the room. Orelas is still unable to believe his claims, saying that the war is over, however, the Priest says that it is just beginning. Priestess meets Priestess outside the city. She confirms that the other Priests were notified and will meet them at an rendezvous place. Priest sets off into the sunset.
